갤러리비원은 2010년 한국문화예술의 중심지인 ‘삼청지역’에서 시작하여,
2018년 이태원 경리단길 G contemporary 문화복합공간으로 이전하였습니다.
갤러리비원은 젊은 작가의 발굴 및 홍보를 통해 갤러리와 작가가 함께 성장하는 것을 목적으로 출발하였으며, 특히 중점적으로, 두 가지 방향의 전시소개를 진행해 오고 있습니다.
컨템포러리 언어를 ‘한국’이라는 로컬에 적용해보는 전시 :
갤러리비원은 유학파 작가들을 지속적으로 소개하면서, 그들의 글로벌한 컨템포러리 시각적 작업이 한국 로컬에 얼마만큼 수용되고 적용되는지를 알아보고자 한다. 이는 국내뿐만 아니라, 한국 젊은 작가들의 아이덴티티를 어떻게 국제적인 시장에 소개를 해야 하는지에 대한 실험이기도 하며 동시에 앞으로의 갤러리비원 역할에 대한 궁극적인 목표이다.
다양성과 성숙함을 가진 emerging artist 소개 전시 :
갤러리비원은 다른 분야에서의 축척된 다양한 경험을 바탕으로 뒤늦게 작업을 시작한 작가들 소개에 주력하고 있다. 이는 다양한 시각을 보여주면서, 미술언어라는 것이 하나로 정의되지 않는다는, ‘모두 다 맞다’와 동시에 ‘모두 다 틀리다’라는 다르면서도 같은 예술을 보여주고자 한다. 이러한 방향성으로 갤러리비원은 설치, 영상 등 상업공간에서는 보여주기 어려운 프로젝트 성격의, 그러나 상업적으로도 뒤떨어지지 않는 전시를 꾸준히 소개해 오고 있습니다. 그리고 기존의 갤러리 공간이 아닌 새로운 플랫폼을 만들어 나가는 것에 노력을 아끼지 않을 것입니다.
Gallery b’ONE (gallerybeone) started in ‘SamChung Area’, the art and cultural center of Korea, 2010. And Gallery b’ONE is once again headed to a fresh beginning at G contemporary cultural complex space located in Gyunglidan-gil. We aim at discovering young and emerging artist, growing up as a perfect collaborator with the artists, and especially leading the exhibitions in two main principles.
Exhibition for challenging to apply contemporary art language in ‘Korean’ locality :
We consistently introduce Korean artists who studied abroad, experimenting how much their globally educated contemporary language could be accepted in Korean art field and how well we can promote and develop their ‘Identity’ concerned works to international market as an ultimate goal.
Exhibition for diversity and maturity :
We focus on the emerging artist from various backgrounds from age to education in Korea. This is the intention about new vision in diversity, not judging art in one frame but exploring on ‘Everything is right also, wrong’. Accordingly, we have been exhibiting a variety of media, installation, video, including brave project incapable in commercial galleries on the level of international platform. We will go on with this effort to introduce brilliant art works as a new format of commercial base, locally and internally as well.
